Understanding the User
USER INTERVIEWS
I was able to sit down with the team to gain a better understanding of how the platform is being used. After the initial questions, most users were eager to continue talking about the different possibilities, and it quickly went from a simple interview to a brainstorming and ideation session.
From these interviews, I was able to come up with the main opportunity spaces based on the problem areas within the current platform.
USER SURVEY
After spending several days with the users, a survey was sent out in order to have a quantitative look at how users interact with the platform. The goal was to understand how those who were not interviewed felt about the insights we were able to derive from the interviews.
Defining the User
PERSONAS AND JOURNEY MAPS
Based on the users interviewed, the functionality of the platform and the feedback, four personas were created along with their corresponding journey maps.








Current and Future State
SITE MAPS
In order to best reduce the clutter of unused controls on the platform, a site map of the current state was created to best understand where we could improve. This map was then recreated with a focus on simplicity.
